Scoliosis
The skeletal system performs vital functions — support, movement, protection, blood cell production, calcium storage and endocrine regulation — that enable us to survive. Scoliosis is a condition that effects the skeletal system. It affects the spine, which means that the skeletal system is compromised when the vertebrae curves.

Signs and Symptoms of Scoliosis: (No X-Ray)
One of the most common tests for detecting scoliosis is called the Adam's Forward Bend Test, in which the individual bends from the waist as if touching the toes.

Cures or Treatments:
Depending on the severity of the curve and the risk for it getting worse, scoliosis can be treated with observation, bracing, or surgery. |
Etiology:
Usually is hereditary but if not,
- Neuromuscular conditions, such as cerebral palsy or muscular dystrophy
- Birth defects affecting the development of the bones of the spine
- Injuries to or infections of the spine
